Board Issues Two Formal Opinions
On November 7, 2016, the Board issued two formal opinions.
First, the Board adopted Formal Opinion 2016-1, “Participation in Charitable, Educational, or Civic Organizations and Activities.” A proposed opinion on this subject was sent out for comment last year but put on hold pending Supreme Court action on the Board's petition to amend Rule 3.7(A)(4) of the Code of Judicial Conduct. Now that the Court has approved the amendment, the Board has revised the opinion to reflect the amendment and has re-issued the opinion in final form.
Second, the Board issued proposed Formal Opinion 2016-2, “Judicial Notice of Electronic Court Records in OFP Proceedings.” The Board invites comments on this proposed opinion. The deadline for comments is December 1, 2016.
